Contact Us Form - Alert

I'm using shoot but this is happening on other themes. When I click on the send message button from the contact us section (at the bottom of the page), I get redirected to the top of the page. Also, the alert messages (informing the user that his email address is required or invalid for instance) are in the content section. How I could not get redirected at the top of the page and remain at the footer section and also get the alert displayed right above or within the contact us block ?
