Site slogan & ccs (less)

Hi, 1) Site slogan How can I add the Site slogan (as in theme drupal core settings checked) under the site logo? It seems not to be in the tpl.php files? I also tried to add a new Block with my "Slogan" to the Region "Logo" but nothing is shown there. I can only add the Block e.g. to the Region "Navigation" but obviously I want it below my logo. 2) css (less) I am only editing the style-preset1.css file and not messing around with any less files (I guess I have to do some server config to make this work and reluctant to learn/do it and I don't know nothing about how to use less instead of css). Does this procedure (editing only the css file) have any side effects that may harm the future development of my site or when there is an update of your theme in the future (I don't know if you make updates of your wonderful theme)?
