Not sure what to do. dexp animation module error, and i cannot buy a new license for support

I would happily pay for support, just let me know how.  Now, onto my problem:

I'm having an issue with the dexp animation module.  When I update the background on one of my blocks, the image that shows is not the one i picked.  I know this worked before when I created the site.  I did a little digging and I see that I receive this error:
 

• Warning: Illegal string offset 'fid' in dexp_animation_preprocess_block() (line 401 of /mnt/www/html/mysite/docroot/sites/all/modules/contrib/drupalexp/modules/dexp_animation/dexp_animation.module).
• Warning: Illegal string offset 'fid' in dexp_animation_preprocess_block() (line 402 of /mnt/www/html/mysite/docroot/sites/all/modules/contrib/drupalexp/modules/dexp_animation/dexp_animation.module).

I went in and print_r the variable, and it seems that the function calling the fid truncates the fid to the first number.  For example, if I pick an image which has an fid of 320, I get the image with fid of 3.  I pick 435, I receive image 4.  

I'm wondering if this is something you're aware of and have a newer version of the dexp_animation module that would fix this problem.
