HELP Cant get Demo Full install to load right

I have been working on this for 4 hours which is crazy but I still cant get the full demo version to load and display correctly. I am a newbie to Drupal, but certainly not to HTML, CSS, or PHP. But I have followed the installation instructions to the letter and all I get on the home page is the "Organic Food" logo at the top and everything else blank. Anyone know of any gotchas or willing to help me figure this out?? Thank you in advance. Paul

When I try to follow the procedure exactly I get the following error message: PDOException: SQLSTATE[42S02]: Base table or view not found: 1146 Table 'gourme30_organic.dr_semaphore' doesn't exist: SELECT expire, value FROM {semaphore} WHERE name = :name; Array ( [:name] => variable_init ) in lock_may_be_available() (line 167 of /home/gourme30/public_html/includes/lock.inc).
