bxslider shortcode

Hi! I am trying out the shortcodes in the Documentation and I seem to only have issues with the bxSlider one. I am using the example in the documentation exactly as is, and it will only display everything as a list and not create the slider. I have the shortcodes checked in the full html formats, and I have the Dexp Views BXSlider module selected. I am just putting the shortcode in the body of content type Basic Page. I'm also using Jquery 1.7 (i've tried 1.7 - 1.10). I also have the bxslider script in my libraries folder. I am wondering what I might have set up wrong to cause it not to work.
